What we process, why, for how long, who we share it with — and exactly which cookies this website sets.
Who is responsible

What we process, and why
If you are a customer, or ask about becoming one, we process the details you give us — your name, company, address, email address and phone number — to answer your enquiry, to deliver and support the platform, to invoice, and to meet our legal obligations. We do not collect more than the work requires.
If you use the contact form, the details you enter — your name, email address and message, plus phone number and country if you choose to give them — are sent to us and used to answer your enquiry, nothing else. We reply by email; there is no mailing list and no follow-up sequence.
As a visitor to this website you are not tracked by default. The cookies section below describes the only measurement this site does, and it happens only after you accept it.
Children
This website and our services do not intend to collect data about visitors younger than 16, unless they have permission from a parent or guardian. We cannot verify a visitor's age, so we encourage parents to be involved in their children's online activity. If you are convinced that we have collected personal information about a minor without that permission, contact us at info@auction-experts.com and we will delete it.
Automated decision-making
We do not take decisions based on automated processing that could have consequences for people.
How long we keep it
- A general question is deleted once it has been handled.
- An enquiry about the product or a proposal is kept for up to two years, in case the conversation resumes.
- Customer records — name, company, address, contact and invoice details — are kept for seven years, the retention Dutch fiscal law requires.
Who we share it with
Nobody, except the processors we need to run the service — the platform and this website are hosted on Microsoft Azure in the West Europe region, physically in the Netherlands — and authorities where a legal obligation requires it. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we only pass data to a third party when it is necessary to carry out our agreement with you.
Security
The website and the platform are served over TLS. Our mail is authenticated with DKIM, SPF and DMARC, our domains are signed with DNSSEC, and the infrastructure sits behind the usual protections — firewalls, malware scanning and continuous monitoring on Azure.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies at all unless you accept them. There is no advertising, no social media tracking, no chat widget and no marketing automation on this site.
If you decline, or ignore the banner
Nothing is loaded and nothing is stored. Google Analytics is not requested, so no data reaches Google and no cookie is created. The site works exactly the same.
If you accept
We load Google Analytics 4 to see which pages get read and where visitors arrive from. It sets two cookies in your browser:

Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses. We use it for aggregate traffic reporting only: we do not use it for advertising, we do not link it to Google Ads, and we do not combine it with any other data about you.
Remembering your choice
Your answer to the banner is kept in your browser's local storage under the name
ae-analytics-consent. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to us or to
anyone else, and it exists only so we do not ask you again on the next page.
Changing your mind
Select Cookies in the footer of any page to reopen the banner and change your answer. Declining after having accepted stops any further data being collected; to remove cookies already set, clear cookies for this site in your browser.
Other services this site uses
The typefaces are self-hosted — the font files are served from this website itself, so no page ever asks Google Fonts or any other outside service for them, and nothing here loads before you accept analytics.
The home page carries live “bidding now” panels that connect to the auction engines of the auction houses shown and display their lots and current bids in real time, with the lot images served from that platform's content delivery network. This is functional content, not tracking: it sets no cookie, identifies no visitor, and sends the engines nothing about you. It is not gated behind the analytics banner, because it stores nothing on your device; if you would rather not connect, you can block third-party connections in your browser and the rest of the site works unchanged.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, receive it in a portable form, withdraw consent you gave earlier, and object to processing. Requests go to info@auction-experts.com.
So that we can be sure a request about your data was really made by you, we may ask you to include a copy of your ID — black out your passport photo, the machine-readable zone (the strip of numbers at the bottom), your passport number and your citizen service number (BSN); we do not need them and you should not send them. We respond as quickly as possible, and within four weeks.
You can also complain to the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
